Inflatable PFD lifejackets are not lifejackets until they are inflated and all it takes is a fish hook, or a loose or damaged CO2 cylinder to prevent them from inflating.

It is a Maritime Safety requirement that inflatable lifejackets must be serviced per manufacturer specifications.

Annual service and testing of inflatable lifejackets is specified by all manufacturers.

We service all brands of lifejackets except the Stormy range. Service takes approximately 3‑5 working days. We will give you an estimate at the time.

Service includes...

• Check for visible signs of wear and damage
• Check oral inflation tube
• Inflate bladder and pressure test
• Check / replace washers and o‑rings if applicable
• Remove C02 cylinder, inspect and check for correct weight of CO2
• On auto-inflation jackets ensure components are armed and in date
• Repack jacket as per manufacturer's instructions
• Service certificate and standards check

Keep a copy of service receipts and certificates in a waterproof bag on your boat as evidence if requested during a boat equipment check.

Don’t put yourself or your family and friends at risk by using a lifejacket that is damaged or has not been checked/serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

A simple visual inspection does not determine the structural condition of a boat hull, mechanical condition of outboard motor or inboard engine and components, electrical condition or usage of the boat.

We have inspected near new boats with outboard motors damaged beyond repair due to usage of wrong oils and fuel. Other boats have had internal hull corrosion/rot which is not visible.
